Howard Whitehouse game master extraordinaire, painter and rules lawyer, will be running 2 games at Recon 2017!

"The Horror!" Session 3

The Congo, 1938. The Busby Berkeley musical version of 'Heart of Darkness' is filming, as Hope and Crosby voyage upriver to find Mister Kurtz (as portrayed by Groucho Marx) surrounded by a dance troupe of Lualaba belles. Meanwhile a German production of 'Tarzan and the Master Race' is shooting nearby, the Force Publique is in mutiny, the cannibals are hungry, the pygmies are angry, and Ernest Hemingway is drinking while shooting. For anything up to 20 players. A Pulpstravaganza using 'Astounding Tales!'

"The Lion Eats Tonight" Session 5

Tales of a hidden valley full of game have reached Nairobi, Capetown and beyond. Safaris of heavily armed sportsmen and women head into the deep heart of East Africa in search of trophies. And yet – – -

A game where hunters have an excellent chance of being bitten, clawed and eaten, as seems only fair. We'll squeeze in as many people who want to play; if it's crowded, you get eaten early. Rules of the same name.

Recon 2017 in Orlando May 4th through the 7th Park Inn by Radisson Resort and Conference Center. See us at HMGS-South.com

Session 3 is friday night 8-12. Session 5 is saturday afternoon 2-6. Pre-registration has closed but tickets may be purchased at the door.

But what of Mexican Jack, hero, villain, bon vivant and general hoister of petards?

We have reports that he is already poaching at Disney's Animal Kingdom which is located right behind the convention hotel.

These sound like tremendous fun. I've always wanted to play in one of Howard's games and am afraid I never shall.

That said, I'm off to find out what Ernest is drinking…

I understand Howard has been Invited to become a member of the Historical Miniatures Gaming Society's Legion of Honour too :)

Indeed he has. Which means we will have THREE Legion of Honor recipients putting on games at RECON. Howard, Bill Moreno and Pete Panzeri. Surely the stars are in alignment!

The staff of Disney World is seeking him out for, ummm, _disturbing_ some of the female characters--Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Jasmine, Lady, Daisy Duck, and Minnie Mouse. Paternity tests will be awaiting him upon his capture.

Just finished packing my boxes for the trip. Still waiting on a last order. I hope it gets here by Tuesday.

We have had a very good pre-registration. Lots of room nights (we had to ask the hotel for another block) and good pre-registration for the convention. Really great list of games and many new GMs. Shaping up to be another really great RECON!
