I know that there is a Ral Partha label inthe background, and that this isn't a Partha figure. Do any of you guys know who made them? link |

The oval base of the 1960-70s limits it to a few companies. The base is often how I distinguish companies. The castings are EAP rather than LAP due to the figure eight shield. Headdress seems to be Persian or Mede. The company of manufacturer may be. Hinchliffe. |

The shape and posing of the arms is reminiscent of Lamming Miniatures. |

Not Lamming. Bill's figures have a very long torso and the face isn't flat like that. Not Hinchliffe, too crude, arms wrong. Not Minifigs or Garrison. Doesn't look like any of the Warrior ranges. My only Ral Partha catalogue is 1993, it doesn't appear there. Don't have any Hinton Hunt, could be? but seem wrong – for HH style link Sorry, can't really place these – lots of short-lived manufacturers back then, could be one of those. |

Might be Eisenwerk, a short-lived company from 1977-1978. They also did some 1/300 armor. |

Not Hinton Hunt, too poorly sculpted, wouldn't have separate weapons, bases are wrong |

I have seen those faces before, but can't remember which manufacturer. A bit cruder than McEwan and while he did Greeks, I don't know if he did Persians. Additionally the Greeks had separate shields as well as separate weapons. |

Not Grenadier's range from the late 70's either, they were some of Andy and Ray's best sculpting and the shields actually looked like woven wicker. I don't recognize this sculpting at all. Definitely NOT: Hinchcliffe, Heritage, Ral Partha, Minifigs, Hinton Hunt, Lamming or Garrison. I owned or cast all of those at one time in the 70's. I don't think they are Warrior as they don't match the style of other ancient figures from them. As mentioned already, a lot of cottage industry makers during that time. Are there any kinds of markings on the base or under it? |

Sadly, no markings. Looks like it will go in the unsolved mystery pile. Thanks to all – I had forgotten a few of the old names(Eisenwerk!). |

Could they be QT figures? (forerunner of Museum Miniatures) although I don't recall him doing Persians. |
