Was this really a thing? I went to the site but my Spanish isn't good enough. What was it – a listening device or a loudspeaker? I am guessing the latter from the name Altavoz (High Voice?). |

Yes, one appears in the documentary "The Spanish Earth" narrated by Ernest Hemingway. He calls it the "loud speaker of the peoples' army" said it had a broadcast range of 2km. It appears around the 13 minute 20 second part of the film: YouTube link |
