The regulares (moroccans) are the north African troops employed by the nationalists in the SCW.
i would like some info if anyone has it.
It seems that NCOs and weapon teams wear the red fez. The rest wear the turban thing. Some pictures seem to go against this, with the rank and file wearing a mixture of fez (tarbush) and turban. can this be so? Anyone also know the differences between summer and winter uniforms for regulares?
Would also like some pictures of them with their knives out. apparently a trianguar type blade.

all a bit detailed , but thought to try
thanks in advance.

Actually, they used fez and turban indistinctly, depending on the circumstances and what the soldiers themselves fancied at any given moment. Posibly, most of them found more comfortable to use turbans, but period photos show both headresses being weared indistinctly.

By the way, the light brown colour of their uniforms (color garbanzo, "chickpea color") was used only for parades. In campaign, their shirts were green-kakhi.

You welcome!

Couldn't find any picture of the knives, though.

Hi this is my first comment! :))

The Regulars were organized in 'Tabores', a small battallion with 2 fusiliers companies and a HQ plus HMG support section and were composed of native and peninsular staff. The first used red tarbuch and turban indistintly as basileus66 correctly comments. The second -a minority- always used tarbuch. In the first winter campaign they frequently started to dress the 'pasamontaņas', a kakhi woollen balaclava very popular among the natives by their resemblance to the fez that sometimes they used even in summer.

The uniform always were sandy-coloured but in winter time they adopted greenish kakhi outerwear as short jackets from the regular army and kakhi 'chilabas', a typical loose and hooded native cape-coat in the Moroccan troops.

Cheers! Quino
