two part question
1. what are your favorite US Airborne figures and
2. if a manufacturer were to announce a new range of US airborne, who would you want it to be?

Timmo uk12 Apr 2017 2:04 p.m. PST

AB. I'm waiting and hoping they will do them.

nazrat12 Apr 2017 2:23 p.m. PST

1. A tie between Elheim and FAA.

2. AB. It is my fondest (miniatures related) dream…

dwight shrute12 Apr 2017 5:20 p.m. PST

1) FAA US paras

2) I have enough of 1 :-)

PiersBrand12 Apr 2017 6:09 p.m. PST

You may be waiting a while for Tony to do them for AB…

genew4912 Apr 2017 8:07 p.m. PST

Elheim, couldn't wait anymore for the possibility of AB ever happening. Happy with my choice.

No one ever knows with Tony. OTOH, now that he has done Soviets, US AB is the only really big hole left for late war ETO in his range.

I will throw another vote for AB here on my own thread. I have pleaded with Mr. Barton and understand why, for now at least, it doesn't seem to be in the cards. But, my intention with this thread was twofold – see if I am missing a range out there and hopefully gin up enough responses for AB that it may inch closer toward becoming a reality!
AB US paras for Normandy and beyond would be incredibly well done, I have zero doubt in my mind.

Ah which uniform though? D-Day or Market Garden?

d-day

Blacky75015 Apr 2017 4:17 a.m. PST

FAA with Kelly Heroes mixed in

The Battlefield Blitz ones are very nice for Bastogne

Poor old Peter H, nowt like flogging a dead horse I guess, there's plenty for Mr Barton to do with the US infantry and even the Germans

PeterH15 Apr 2017 5:26 p.m. PST

I know Blacky, but given the 100 post thread on the Guild with everyone putting plugs in for what they'd like, I figured it never hurts to keep asking if the creator himself is open to hearing. I have yet to hear anyone say that AB wouldn't immediately be the best US paras on the market! And besides, Mr. Barton's Germans are thoroughly covered and the US infantry range is pretty deep at this point too, although I always welcome more of both!

tayerigonz16 Apr 2017 2:07 p.m. PST

AB will be a great addition

PeterH16 Apr 2017 6:30 p.m. PST

no doubt tayer, here's hoping!

Blacky75017 Apr 2017 7:53 p.m. PST

Not sure why you're not happy with the FAA ones, they are still very good, I can think of only 1 naff pose in the whole range which is the advancing BAR gunner otherwise FAA take pride of place in my Rapid Fire US Airborne division, yes a whole division

PeterH18 Apr 2017 8:51 p.m. PST

not sure I've ever seen the FAA ones but considering they are probably 20 years old, I suspect they wouldn't hold a candle to the fictitious AB paras floating around in my head!

CP Models and Elhiem, if metal.

Italieri/ESCI, Ceasar and Revell, if plastic.

thank you for the link umpapa, I had browsed your site before and admired the work put into that para collection!
What about question #2? Interested to hear what company you would like to see make more, either in plastic or metal!

Umpapa21 Apr 2017 11:43 a.m. PST

I am afraid I have already all US Paras I will ever need, frankly.

Oh, maybe CP Models US Paras AT gun crew.

Thank You! I am glad You like them. :)

Kungfucius22 Apr 2017 5:28 a.m. PST

1. Blitz
2. AB of course. If in plastic, the Plastic Soldier Company

PeterH24 Apr 2017 8:40 a.m. PST

Agree KungFu

Blacky75027 Apr 2017 4:18 p.m. PST

As I said, the FAA ones, sculpted by the late Paul Barnshaw are very nice

They are in the States Peter, get some, they might be old but still worth getting, they form the basis of my Rapid Fire US Airborne division
