…of Spain, Toledo.
"Considered the most important exhibition organised in Spain on miniatures, it has 20,000 lead soldiers, mostly from the permanent collection of the Military Museum that are usually kept in the museum's reserve areas, not open to the general public.
The miniatures span 22 centuries of Spanish history, from the fall of Sagunto in 219 BC to the recent international missions in Bosnia and Afghanistan.
These scenes are accompanied by dioramas and vignettes of exceptional quality on loan from other museums. They have been acknowledged with the prestigious Army Prize for Military Miniatures, which has been awarded in Spain since 1984. The exhibition also includes other dioramas belonging to private collections compiled by reputed miniature collectors.
The inauguration ceremony was presided over by the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Army, Lieutenant General Jesús Carlos Asensio, and attended by the Government Delegate in Castile-La Mancha, Jesús Labrador, and other representatives of the Army and IBERDROLA.
The miniatures will be on display at the Military Museum in the Alcázar de Toledo from 12 February to June…"
