Just saw this up on GW's page for pre-order. I'm thinking of building a fantasy dwarf distillery/brewery model for Warhammer games. This particular kit, even though it's technically for 40k, I think has a lot of useful components for making a piece of fantasy terrain like a mysterious artifact or as I'm doing, a dwarf brewery. Really great detail in GW's 40k plastics. $50 USD seems like a pretty decent price for this. link

Except for one or two larger scale details like the hatch…might make for a good 6mm manufactorum. |

$50 USD seems like a pretty decent price for this. Yes nice looking but not $60 USD+ dollars (taxes) nice looking. Just how tall are they in inches? |

Look at figures for scale

@Mithmee, Looks like from the photos, when comparing them with the heights of the miniatures, that the two tall components are about 8-10" tall maybe? That's a pretty decent size I think. The reason I say that $50 USD is a good price for this is because any resin terrain of this size and detail would cost at least that much, maybe even more. And plastic is so easy to work with and so sturdy, even more so than some resins. |

Say what you want about the current direction of GW games, but their plastic terrian is awesome. Xin/Jeff |

Actually I would say that the current direction of GW is awesome too. |

It's definitely a handsome piece… I wonder how much utility it will have on the table, though? It seems like mostly an obstacle, and largely a verticle one at that. Definitely pretty, though, and very appropriate for steampunk Victoriana games. |

Agreed it has a very steampunkish look to it, so good crossover potential for some fantasy subgenres. |

Wow, never thought of that. They are clever s. I also just realized, NO SKULLZ!!! |

Most definitely, a lot of possibilities. I could also see this fitting in very well with a game of Age of Sigmar where you were doing some kind of scenario involving an ancient, mysterious artifact of some kind. |

I look at these and get Star Wars flashbacks of the moisture collectors on Tattooine… |

Could be great for Elder Scrolls Dwemer stuff too… |

@IronMike, That's a great call, I hadn't thought of that! You're right, they really do remind one of the moisture collectors from Star Wars! @The Angry Piper, Indeed, another great call! I still play Skyrim regularly, this kit does indeed like like one of those Dwemer ruins with all the complex pipe and steam pump systems. |

There is at least a few skulls in the mechanicus, or whatever, symbols. Being all just tubing and piping, it is cheaper to just build some from scratch, and more fun. Plus you could make loads more for basically nothing. But if you, like Sly on a mountain top, have money to burn… They are rather generic looking, in a good way, strange for GW. If they don't stop making terrain soon, they will run out of room in store for the minis! |
