Not quite a month past St. Patrick's Day, I also like it with brown sugar, Jameson and a dollop of whipped cream.

I learned in the Army that a ball bearing had to float in it b4 it was ready to be consumed. (:0)>

At home "A". When I get coffee from Starbucks "D", but that is more as a little treat for me than the coffee needs it.

D – coffee is just a delivery system for cream and sugar.

I've not had any in quite a while, but I used to go back and forth with black, or cream and sugar (including artificial substitutes.)

I once had a coworker at a construction site tell me that the cream and sugar just made it sugar water. I had to ask what he thought the can of Coca Cola he was drinking early in the morning actually was.

But zoneofcontrol has an amazing alternative for those 'difficult to get through days' ie Sunday to Sunday 😉

Two guys were getting coffee in line ahead of me. One ordered black coffee. The other ordered an iced decaf soy latte.

When they had their coffees, the first one said, "I like my coffee like I like my women: hot and strong." The second one replied, "so do I: cold and pretentious."

That's not original. I saw it in a cartoon many years ago, but I don't remember who produced it.

I myself like cafe sua da or gafe boran when the weather is hot, and Turkish coffee when it's not.

What I like is a proper cup of coffee – made in a proper cup of coffee pot.

I may be off my dot – but I like a cup of coffee from a proper coffee pot.

Sounds all right – as long as we leave the blueberry out.

I spent 6 years working in a hospital dietary department(kitchen) making 15 pounds of coffee every morning 5 days a week.

I don't drink the stuff.

Tablespoon of cream in the 1st cup, refills get nothing. Only been to Starbucks once maybe 15 years ago. Wawa has better coffee.

A- Black, why destroy good coffee by puting Milk and/or sugar in it

Coffee is also good if mixed with Kahlua, or with Kahlua and cream, or with Irish whisky, or even with Bailey's.

Yes A,B,C,D. Retired infantry, and I still have a soft spot for several of us mixing all our C Ration coffee, chocolate, coco, powered milk and sugar in a pot and drinking the resulting beverage heaven in a canteen cup. Cheers!

Spoon test:

Take a spoon, insert in coffee, let go.
A. If it stands, it's strong enough for me.
B. If it comes out incomplete, it's definitely strong enough.
C. IF NOT A AND NOT B THEN it ain't coffee.

A. Every morning a cup or two of black coffee. The stronger the better. However as a Pacific Northwesterner I occasionally fall for the siren song of Starbucks and the lure of a nonfat mocha. Something on my list of things to give up.

G. Anyway it is presented, no discrimination here.

That is how I take it, how I like it is strong with just a bit of real cream and some honey as a natural sweetener. But I will take it however it is given- I have so often been offered coffee in the field from a thermos that whatever comes out will work its magic. *coffee*

@Oberlindes: I don't know if this is the cartoon you were thinking of, but years ago I saw a Beetle Bailey cartoon where Lt. Fuzz declared that "I like my coffee like I like my women: hot, black, and sweet!"
