Well the recently released Battlegroup Tobruk book has just landed in front of me – and first view is very good – and handles the Italians with as much detail as the British and Germans |

One other though a bit harder to come by, check Ebay. Benghazi Handicap but Frank Chadwick. It is a Command Decision Test of Battle book. It covers the period of June 1940 through the end of Crusader in December of 1941. Obviously slanted towards gamers good historical information, orders of battle and a dozen scenarios. |

Best single book is "Pendulum of War" by Niall Bar. Although it covers Alam Halfa and the Alamein battles, it covers in detail the tactical successes and failures during these battles in a way which gives insight into both the covered battles and strangely enough earlier British successes and failures. It also attempts to avoid the extreme pro-Montgomery anti-Montgomery perspectives seen in other books. Of course, I still like "The Desert Generals" too (…). MH |
