Hi all,

Say I have an object I'm making that costs $1.55 USD. Now, $1.50 USD of that should be the "single item" fee, which is $1.50 USD. The actual cost of the space and the plastic should be $0.05 USD, right? So, if I decide to make a square with 100 of the items attached by sprues, I could expect to pay $1.50 USD + $5.00 USD + (cost of sprue material).

But, I would also have to pay a new cost for the machine space, right? So, to make my 100 items, would I end up paying more then just $0.05 USD per item, right?

I'd have to may for the total area of the entire block, including the space the items take up, the sprue space, and the open space in-between the sprue. Right?

Maybe I should just double the price to $0.10 USD per item? I still need to make the sprue-version,of course. This was just a test run today. This week, when/if I get some free time I'll have to experiment a bit more.

I generally find that adding sprues is much cheaper than the per-piece cost, for those materials that charge it. The machine space is minimal.

Cool. That was the answer I was hoping for!
My piece got rejected as too small, but I hit print-it-anyway. The changes they wanted were pretty minor, actually, so we'll just see how this one comes out. If I have to make changes its no big deal.
