Today I published a review of Cigar Box Battle Mats. The summary, they are worth the buy if you can afford it and I am really enjoying mine. Link to the Review: link

Looking for a mat. After this review I may well have found one. Thanks. |

They also make great bed covers for your kids! Joe Collins (Who is only slightly making a joke with this. As the bed covers do exist!) |

They are great and I have heard tales of gamers losing these mats to their wives. One story tells of a woman that uses her husband's Cigar Box Battle Mat as the movie blanket in their house. My wife was tempted to use it as a blanket, but she fully understands that this blanket is for the gaming table! :) |

Lol With your wife using it as a blanket it could make for an interesting terrain features hills and valleys. "wink wink" |

I don't like the terrain features printed on the mats. I prefer a mat with background terrain…I want to add my roads, rivers, hill, forests etc….. Other than that huge issue, these are nice mats. |

They do look nice. The blanket option adds a whole new wrinkle to "military maneuvers", especially when the significant other is using it. |

GREAT review,.if you will allow me to chime in, I agree 100 %. As to the fellow who does not want terrain preprinted on the map, they make a bunch of mats that have no road or trees. Just add to the grass mat or whatever you are using. link I for one love the preprinted terrain. I add 3D terrain to enhance it. And so here is a shot of 3 mats together which I will hoist up to the 6 X 12 foot table at Nashcon. And here is a closeup of the fighting on the mats ( a smaller section to test is out with 28mm troops

I have 6 of these right now with plans for 3 or 4 more. Can't say enough good things about them. As far as the printed terrain goes sometime I like it and sometimes I don't so I have some of each. I tend to use the one without printed terrain the most if you have to choose. |

I've got two, and I need a few more. They are great, and well worth the very reasonable price. |

They're excellent. I have several, and will get more. Here's a test setup of their winter map, plus some cheap Christmas trees.

What make and scale are those British troops? – look good |

Great feedback everyone! Please keep it coming. Alphus99, the British troops are Bolt Action miniatures by Warlord games. They are 28mm. |

I've loved all 4 of mine. I only wish that they would do a one-mat Gettysburg and Antietam for Altar of Freedom/BBB. |
