Not bad. It has some things that are simplified and not quite right. The French line infantry all wear bicorns. You want to see what Peter Hofschroer looks like? Most of the narration is in English with Dutch, er Flemish sub-titles. When the talking heads speak in French or Dutch you're out of luck. There are the odd footage from the old Waterloo movie added in. And one of the other ranks they follow around has his leg amputated. Ouch. There's a large table with a model of the battlefield on it and loads of toy soldiers that the actors portraying Napoleon and Wellington move stuff around on. The last Old Guard attack ends up with a bayonet fight. Too bad, the infantry fighting before looks OK. |
