Anyone know where this 40mm figure might be from or recognise it?

picture

It is in a mould with a load of 54mm I bought which I can't identify. If I could work out what this is I might be able to work out who moulded the figures and then work out where the 54mm came from originally?

It is a dark ages (I am guessing) or roman standard bearer with a lion skin including a huge lion head. It looks like it was intended that you drill the hand and put a standard in it.

Any help appreciated.

(Though it might just be a copy of an existing figure made by the mould maker…)

thanks

Mike
