There is a chance I may be moving to Corvalis, Oregon this year for a new job.

Any Miniature War Gamers or war gaming clubs in the area?

Thanks

Whoa! Talk about a subject line I never thought I'd see on this page.

To answer your question: YES, I work in Corvallis and live up the road in Albany. I moved out here myself a little over a year ago and found a local club that played 40k but little else. So I started putting out feelers for like-minded players and have built a small but loyal game group that meets monthly at my house. My style of play must be appealing because I've peeled off a couple of the 40k guys, too.

Here's my blog. Take a look and see if there's any overlap with your interest: comradewargames.wordpress.com

We play mostly fantasy and sci-fi skirmish games such as Song of Blades & Heroes, Frostgrave, Grimdark Future (formerly One Page 40k) and a few other titles. Medium-sized games so no one gets burned out painting huge armies, strong narrative component, emphasis on nicely painted models and beautiful terrain.

Quick follow-up: There is a group that meets regularly at a store in Salem (about 30 minutes up the road from Corvallis) for Flames of War.

There are also some more historically focused groups that meet in Portland and down in the Eugene area that might also be of interest. I haven't crossed paths with any of them but I see their stuff regularly online.

Ha! My wife and I took a trip to Oregon last year and we stayed a night in Salem. I drove out to find pizza and saw a game store. Must be the one Patrick mentioned.

We loved the trip and wouldnt mind living in Oregon. Now at least I know there are gamers!

Thanks PatrickWR and Grignotage!.

We are hoping to start in the early fall, in Corvalis, depending on the interview process.

I have always looked up local clubs when I moved to a place, but figured, it would be better to look ahead this time. Love that internet….

I have a massive collection of 28mm figures and vehicles painted. I sold off my collection of all other scales to focus on 28mm which grows monthly. I have ACW/Old West, Mostly WW2, Viet Nam, and Modern Middle Eastern, and a large AWI collection, with some Greek City States Circa 500BC-400BC, and some Fantasy figures mixed in.

Presently I participate with South-Florida Miniatures Gamers and HMGS South. I run 2-3 club games per year. I have run Convention games for Disposable Heroes and Battlegroup Kursk (which is a modified Warhammer 40K for WW2), and assisted in running large AWI games with the club for AWI Monmouth and Yorktown, and other games out of my regular scales.

I also play Bolt Action and now Bolt Action 2 or Warlord Games rules as they are popular. I have run Demos for FOW when in first came years ago, and was considering playing it in 28mm for players interested or involved in the game.

Currently working with Disposable Heroes II for WW2 Skirmish, and I Ain't Been Shot Mum 3 (IABSM 3) for Company or larger games, and starting some WW2 pulp semi RPG style scenario based campaign games. My Old West and ACW is for skirmish, which we used Warhammer Historical or a modified Sword and the Flame.

My parents live in Winston next to Roseburg (for more than 20 years). He is also a board gamer, and got me started in wargaming. My wife and I have been looking from moving from south Florida to Oregon for 3 years. Hopefully our current expected interview process will come to fruition.

I've been miniature gaming since 1981.

I would enjoy skirmish style games with smaller obligation for troops. I have a plethora of rules "just in case" I run into others who play with the rules.
