I know that most rules are not scale specific but I wondered how impetus plays in 28mm? I read somewhere that you get a different game in 28mm. What's the average point score for an impetus army in 28mm? |

Use same points for 28mm – it's not the amont of figures, but the size of the base that matters.Get my bases from Litko. Not sure about different game. Providing space for flanks may be helpful. |

I play with 28mm and absolutely enjoy it. If I were to ever switch to 15mm or even 10mm ancients, I would give some serious consideration to mounting those minis on the 120mm frontage bases used for 25/28mm minis. You'd have a much more massed effect that way. More minis to paint, of course, but it'd be a great look. But I'll be sticking with 25/28mm from now on as my old eyes and hands just can't work with the smaller scales anymore. |

28mm plays tighter than 15mm because the scale is 2cm per unit of movement instead of 1cm. There is more movement in 15m and on board flanking is a real possibility in the smaller scale. One of the things I like about Impetus, however, is that it encourages players to keep their army together (unlike ADLG for instance) rather than disperse it across the table because it is very possible to defeat an opponent by only beating a portion of his army. That seems to conform to my understanding of ancient deployment. I play 28mm and agree with everything that TKindred said above. I typically play 400 point games using the tournament rules because it gives a good game in under 2 hours. |

Just change the scale by 50% to solve this "problem". 28mm gives better visual appeal. Our longrunning club campaign uses 28mm figures – see here: link |

28mm basing is 50% bigger than 15mm so adjusting the ground scale only solves part of the difference. Moving 12cm stands in 1cm increments wouldn't work for me. Personally I find the tighter 28mm games fine. Still lots of room for deployment and manouevre. |

15mm for me, a better mass feel and more manoeuvre space |

Thanks for the replies everyone. Tpically, how long does a 500 pt or a 1000pt game last for? |

We used to play 800 point games which are quite large. 1000 points is very large. Probably 4+ hours. My guess is that 500 points would be a solid 2 to 2.5 hours once the rules are well known and play is quick (we could play 2 600 point games in an evening.) |
