"Wing Commander Fighter counters for fleet games" Topic

Now available on Toasted Spaceships the Confederation fighters from Wing Commander 3. A full wing consists of 6 Squadrons of fighters. Each squadron counter has a undercut base for easy handling on the game table and two recesses for 12mm D6 to track squadron strength and endurance or any other variables your game system uses. Available in plain white as the cheapest option, red or blue for no effort indication of sides or black for quick painting of just the raised fighters. link

Only available in wing packs at this point but I hope to have individual fighter counters up by the end of the week. Next week I should start on the Kilrathi.

I'm of the 'fool me once' school as far as most stuff from Shapeways goes, but it's items that look this useful suggest 'one more try…'

From what I'm seeing of the price difference, I gather the 'wings' are done as one run. Can you make the same kind of thing as a sampler, or do you have to sell one each as individual prints?

I assume the latter would be more pricey than I'd like to think about.

Yes now that I've got the squadrons up there is a price saving on the wing so I will do a mixed wing, might take a few days real life is intruding on my unemployment.

Not seeing a mixed wing, and did a 'look at all' of the 44 on page. Am I looking incorrectly, or misunderstanding what you mean by 'mixed wing'?

It's there when I look, I named it Confederation Wing so it doesn't get confused with the Kilrathi mixed wing when I finish that.

I might consider cap ships at some point, serious sales of the fighters would almost certainly convince me, hint, hint.

Unfortunately on that score I'm out on fleet scale at the moment, as I'm wanting to do WC at fighter scale first (modding FFG's X-Wing), and my gaming budget has just gone up in smoke for the foreseeable future. There are fleet scale cap ships already on Shapeways from a couple of sources – though there are a number of gaps IIRC corvettes and some of the cap ships seen in WC Prophecy.

Just fixing a few thin edges on the Kilrathi wing should be up tomorrow (If I don't end up with to much babysitting).
Your the first to order from me so thanks for that, please let me know how they turn out. Particularly want to know if I made the panel lines deep enough to show up on the print.

Real baby babysitting? Raised a baby daughter, and took care of her twins several times. Nerve-wracking fun, that is!

Not a baby, 10 year old boy who needed to be kept out of his mother's hair for a couple of hours (why do they always wait for school holidays to get themselves on crutches). We played a cops and gangsters game using Flying Lead rules, let the corruption of the young begin.

My own boys have left home and my oldest got married in February, I'm told to expect grandchildren starting in 2-3 years. My youngest seems to feel the need to outdo his brother and is dating a woman twice his age so I may be getting a ready made 17 year old grandson very shortly.
