Do your foes relentlessly pursue you across the field of battle?

OldGrenadier at work04 Apr 2017 1:09 p.m. PST

Nope, my troops usually retreat far too quickly to be properly chased.

I once chase a opponent's command figure over 1/2 the board so I could kill him. It was a campaign and hes was the general with the most glory points!

Many many years ago playedin a muti player game and was given a regiment of Dragoons in a 17th century battle as I remember. I charged and broke through the enemy line ( on our left flank) and was chased by a enemy cavalry. Being unsure of my capabilities and wasn't allowed to turn around decided to keep going forward. Broke back through the lines in the middle to return to my lines.

Yep; back in the mid nineties I was visiting the Bentonville battlefield in NC in the summer. It was not too long after a hurricane had made landfall, so there was a lot of pooled water in the area. I got out to some marker out in the middle of the woods and realized that I was being assaulted by hoards of ravenous mosquitos. I failed morale, was routed, and skedaddled about a mile and a half back to my car as fast as my legs would carry me.

The Old Grenadier and I are on the same page here – my enemies usually don't need to do much pursuing

Nope but, I once got accosted by a farmer, climbing the Lesser Aripiles at Salamanca, and asked to 'pay for my passage' in cigarettes.

Snowshoe, I too was driven off a Civil War battlefield by small flying gray backed bloodsuckers.

I was visiting Gettysburg and hadn't made a hotel reservation over the 4th of July weekend in 2002 (I know what was I thinking). When I saw re-enactors camping just south of the Pennsylvania monument I decided to just unroll my poncho liner and sleep nearby, south of the copse of trees. I know I could have won with a suitable application of chemicals, but I retreated to my jeep until the sun rose. Then continued on toward Ft Dix. No mosquitos were killed not property damaged in the making of this story.

Real Life: yes.
Tabletop: yes.
Caveat: As well as being pursued by opposing forces after an engagement, we play "chase" games … posse, intercept the moving train, racing, Mad Max, etc.
