Until this post, it never occurred to me to do Soviets fighting the Turks in the 1980s. It's so obvious, but I always think of the Soviets in West Germany in a 1980s clash. |

I'd like to do Soviets v Turks in the late 1940s/early 1950s. The Turks were barely converting to WWII equipment, but had significant manpower and were starting to train up in American aircraft. The American advisors were pushing them to a limited defense around the straits, but the Turkish wanted to also try and hold on to Anatolia…not easy to mesh those together. |

For an excellent Division count, use the old GDW "Southern Front" board game from their WW III series. The US Military did not have a real good grip on the internal details of the Turkish ground forces in the 1980's. I spent a couple of months (1984?) trying to sort it out. |

And to have anther opponent how about the Greek's vs the Turk's. In the 70's (Cypress) and the 80's they were always having confrontations. PDF link |
