"I've been playing the Brettspiele "Memoir 44" and "Battles of Westeros" for years. Last year, "Commands & Colors: Napoleonics" also came to me. All three board games work according to the same basic rules, but are distributed by different companies. The "Commands & Colors" series, from which there is also a variant for the ancient world and soon the Middle Ages, will be distributed by GMT Games; "Memoir 44", the variant for World War II, belongs to Days of Wonder; "Battles of Westeros" as well as the second fantasy variant "BattleLore" were published by Fantasy Flight Games…"

I'm a fan; it's the only game I regularly play. Easy to set up and games can be played in a couple hours.

Sometimes it has been need, where a company comes to him for a specific design and setting era. Sometimes it may be the "pipeline" issue. Or rather how long it would be before the system or its expansions would hit the market. In some cases it has been many years before a expansion will reach the market. The company might want to finish an expansion line before moving on to a new system. In other words it will reach the market faster if another company does it.

Rarely is it a delay due to the designers delay. I have seen many of the systems play tested at thes slows tricorne game , he bought the miniatures for the initial play test many many years ago.everal years before they reached market. For example, the S

The tricorne game , he bought the 15mm miniatures for the play test forces many many years ago. In fact they were ready ahead of several systems but did not get picked up until recently.

I agree, this IS my favorite wargame. I love this game, I love this game system. Both Ancient and Napoleonic. I even believe that the both games give a plausible historic outcome to both genres (horse/musket & ancient), and now, we shall commence the howls of indignation!
