Imperial Knights invade Mech Attack City! I just put up a gallery of a masive 40k Knight battle that "Wardens of The Maelstrom" played at Adepticon using my Mech Attack City layout.
I've got my issues with GW, but you can't begrudge them the impressiveness of these models, especially when they are as well-painted as the Wardens have done.
Lots more pics here… link….as well as shots of some 40k games that were played on the same terrain. |

Wow, I really like everything I see there despite not gaming 40k. (I do have an Army of Sisters that have been used twice) |

Thanks! I feel roughly the same way about 40k. I've got a couple of armies from back in the day and they occaionally come out for "one-page-40k", Warengine or similar games but I haven't played 40k for a few editions now. I was just loving watching folks put cool minis on my terrain. |

Gotta love Big Stompy Robots! I still dream of putting together a board like that! |

Yes! Giant Stompy Robots for the win! Ordinary Bass, current 40K really isn't that bad as a game. Yes it's convoluted with lots of rules and options, but it gives players all the tools they need to field just about whatever they want. I am finally able to use my Ghost Rider conversion on the table top(since 6th edition actually) and he really feels worthy of the name… Me being a fan of mecha combat, I can run that too legitimately in-game with various factions. As it's close to being re-vamped, I'd say you may want to check out and play a few games with some friendlier folks and see about it. It can be a great tool box. Of course, your crew has everything well covered, so you likely don't even need to bother. :-) |

Thanks CBob, That board has been the work of 5 years, but the payoff has been worth it. Capt., I got a similar impression from the one member of our club who still plays 40k (both casually and in tournaments). I appreciate the RPG-like nature of GW games and their flexibility when it comes to unit load-out. At this point though I just prefer faster playing games and I can't stomach the nearly $200 USD in books I'd have to buy to keep current each time the edition changes. That said, we have enjoyed fielding our old 40k armies in one-page-40k (now revamped as "Grimdark Future"), Warengine and the first edition of Warpath (back when it was basically KoW in space). We also play Necromunda and "In the Emperor's Name" from time to time. One current 40k game we may well give a try at some point is the Armageddon skimish game, especially if I can get ahold of the rules separate from the box. Looks like a set tailor made for Inquisimunda. |

Yeah, it looks good and I had high hopes of getting it. I have. A number of factions, mostly Imperial, but also Chaos, Orks, Tau, and Tyranids. Hopefully I can grab a copy soon. |

If it's like Space Hulk it will be re-printed soon. If not, the rules will wind up online soon enough anyway… I'd rather have an official printed book, but either way there is hope! |

That's a heck of a board you've put together there. :) I am duly impressed! |
