Mainly aimed at looking if they are suitable for playing with children. The review is informed by a decent amount of test games to enable a realistic idea of how it actually plays rather than just reading the rules / looking at the concepts. thatwargamesblog.blogspot.co.uk |

Well done! I am glad he liked it! My son was less fond of OHW. We played a Dark Age bash and his thought was that you get stuck in and the first person to lose a unit would probably lose. Not a lot of back and forth. But then again, we've been playing somewhat more complicated games before that so there is that. He started playing with miniatures at 6. I think he played OHW when he was 7 and now, at 9 he enjoys some other, mainly skirmish game. Keep him going! |

Yes, OHW seems to be a good 'first' game to introduce the idea. But even at seven, after fice games the boys interest is not being command so much – need to develop the challenge. |
