Hi everybody.
I recently watched a documentary about the Normandy breakout and the fighting the Allies endured after the landings on D-Day, and particularly was interested in the battle of Saint-Lô. It was the bloodiest battle the Americans fought in Normandy, and I never knew that until recently.
I really want a book just on Saint-Lô, preferably an in depth one. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Take a look at the titles listed here. Sorry, I have not read any of them myself.

Plus I see that Osprey is publishing one by Zaloga in June.

Written by the CO of the 1st/115th. Very well done.

I can vouch for "Dying for St. Lo" and "Clay Pigeons" for two different reasons. The first is more referenced oriented, with many terrific photos and a broad overview. The second, as indicated, is a first person account by Glover Johns – if I recall correctly, the writing style was a little awkward to me but it certainly was not such that I would not recommend the book. Also, Balkoski's book about the 29th Infantry Division has good treatment about St. Lo, however it covers a much broader time period of that division.

I just bought the Osprey Campaign title. It is awesome and just what I wanted. Thanks for the suggestions.
