Who makes some nice 28mm Colonial Japanese? Preferably from the earlier part of their Colonial Empire, shortly after the Meiji Restoration. How much overlap is there in uniforms and equipment with the Sino-Japanese War and the Russo-Japanese War? Thank you so much! |

You should look at Japanese figures for the Boxer Rebellion. In the Sino-Japanese war and the early months of the Russo-Japanese War the Japanese initially would've worn blue uniforms, switching to Khaki later in the conflict. |

I am curious, though, by what you mean by their Colonial Empire "just after the Meji Restoration". They really didn't have one until they annexed Taiwan in 1895, although they'd been meddling in Korean politics much earlier. Pretty much until the 1894-5 Sino-Japanese War, there WERE no Japanese colonial possessions. |

Kinda surprised no one has said Old Glory yet. Under their boxer rebellion Great Powers. Infantry, artillery, and cavalry in 28mm. Also if you go in that direction, check out the Great powers command with one mounted Japanese officer and several other mounted officers suitable for conversion |

Thank you, guys. I *really* like the idea of ACW with Springfields as Japanese Colonial (or pre-Colonial) troops. Now, the next question: who makes ACW infantry with Speingfields? Are there any in plastic? Thank you again! |

Isn't there something suitable in the Bac Ninh Miniatures range? |

@Coyotepunc and Hatshepsuut: The Springfield rifle-musket and similar weapons are the standard long arm of the ACW period. So basically *everyone* that does ACW Union figures would supply suitable models. Perry Miniatures do an extensive range in both plastic and metal. |
