1. Love 'em! – short and sweet, they get to the point. 2. Hate 'em! – if you can't be bothered to type some text or give me a preview image, don't waste my time. 3. Take ''em or leave 'em – it's just another click or two to figure out what you're talking about. |

2 I also dislike posts that don't include the scale/figure size in the heading (where that is relevant to the content). If it is about 28mm figures, then say that in the heading. |

When walking down the street a perfect stranger sticks a table spoon in your face and says, "Here, taste this!" Do you just open your mouth, and let them shove the spoon in your pie hole? Pretty much the same thing isn't it! |

I just can't be bothered to click on them. It's the equivalent of being handed a book with utterly nothing on the cover. Sure, if I had little choice, I might read it (if I were on a desert island or in a prison cell). But, if I'm – in an internet sense – in the equivalent of a huge library with almost infinite choice, imagery or, a worst, some sort of intriguing text will always draw my attention first. Books have summaries, enticing covers and even (gosh) pictures… (some of which I don't have to colour in myself!). I know accepted wisdom says that one shouldn't judge a book by its cover. Empiricism suggests that this is not how the world of publishing works. Why – other than massive laziness* – should the web buck that trend? Not a fan for the OP. Not against them, but giving little incentive to click means not a lot of clicks … |

AussieAndy for the win. Please always include a little bit about the link in the text box so we know where we are going and what we are going to see. I usually don't click on them. Please tell us the scale of everything in the heading. New Japanese WWII troops! I will click on it and then be irritated when it is not in "my" scale. New Japanese WWII troops in 28mm! Is much more useful, even though I won't click on it, because I don't do 28mm. Mike Bunkermeister Creek Bunker Talk blog |
