So a new range of unpainted plastic miniatures is launched! How does it stack up? Read my blog and find out! link |

Just bought a giant spider today. Pretty nice mini, based and primered, also only $3.99 USD. Damn good deal! |

Nice sculpts, but enough seam lines to clean that it almost negates the gray primer. Still, $4 USD for two 28mm figures is an impressive value. |

I agree with the mold lines. All the ho ha over quality and they are not even cleaned. Good to see generic pricing in the store I saw them in. Two bugbears the same as two humans. On quality they fall short. Very shallow detailing. They are computer generated and that stuff always seems lost in translation. Reaper bones, on the other hand, are based on actual sculpts. Both seem to have poor detail compared to metal, whatever the hype. You get what you pay for. If they were prepainted they may be worth it, for those who don't paint. But to paint these, like bones, would be a waste of your talents. That said, they are cheap, but then, so are second hand minis of a higher quality. For a bit of fun, buy a pack, rip it open like its christmas, they may be ok. If your in a bind and simply can't find or afford an alternative, fair enough. At the moment they may make a good quick, cheap gift idea. But I wouldn't base a collection on them. They are competition for bones and I am sure they won't be the last. |
