I have been applying Vallejo thick mud to my bases, after gluing the mini's in place. On some pieces, especially wagons and canons, I had difficulty getting mud under the piece. Last week, I decided to solve this by applying the mud on the base, then pressing the mini's into the mud. I wasn't sure if it would create a strong enough bond to hold the mini's in place, but it seems to have done. My question is, will this survive the perils of the war-gaming table, or will the mini's start popping off because the bond isn't strong enough to last? Note, I usually use white or wood glue to hold mini's to the bases, which are the 3mm wooden bases from Litko. |

What scale do you use? I'd be wary about 28mm, which are heavier, but maybe it would be a strong enough bond for 15mm or 10mm. Even at the smaller scales, what worked for an L3/33 might not hold a Tiger II on the base (or an elephant with howdah). Grelber |

You can also mix the wood glue into the paste and it should create a better bond. |

I usually glue my cannons and other equipment without integral bases onto the Vallejo basing paste once it has dried. |
