I can't pitch in for this KS, because, to put it bluntly, I'm skint.

But I'll show my support by spreading knowledge of the game, here.

Why? Because I am pleased that, compared to another of CMoN's miniature-based games, this one does not indulge in juvenile, caricatured, degrading representations of women, that's why.

I want to see more games on the market that don't have minis I'd choose to hide like a pile of dirty magazines from – well – anyone, really.

The game's already funded, btw. I'd love to think that's because other gamers share my views, and are expressing their support. But I think it's actually because it's incredibly nice plastic minis of fantasy Japanese figures. ;)

Lots of companies doing samurai games at the moment. They must be the new zombies.

It's not a miniature game. It's a boardgame with soft plastic (not ABS) miniatures. This is all the rage in boardgaming right now, everything must have soft plastic miniatures, which drive up prices like crazy.

I find them over-produced in detail in the vein of modern GW, which I guess also is all the rage. More greeblies means better sculpting. I can't wait to see all the badly painted paint-by-numbers miniatures.

The big difference between CMON and GW is that GW keeps their promises, most of the time. CMON has totally failed this kickstarter project. Their comment section is full of backers, and superbackers(!), complaining about the lack of service, professionalism and integrity. They were supposed to deliver Rising Sun in April, 2018 -- FAIL! Here it is almost 4 months later and my order is still in China.

The owner of CMON isn't even an American; it is some guy in Singapore. I have had problems with vendors outside the US before, but never this bad. In order to get any response from them I had to file a complaint with the BBB.

The lucky people are the ones that did not back this KS project.

@Condor … I did not back this particular product from CMON, but if you are basing your tirade on the delivery date alone, then I think you are way off base. As Kickstarter says, it is not a store.

You are backing something that is in development. Dates are not fixed. And if you had done any research of past CMON projects you would see that they average 4-6 months late, nearly every single time.

They always claim they have adjusted to account for the Chinese New year (which sets back production 6 weeks without fail). And yet, their projects are nearly always late, nearly always 4-6 months, and sometimes longer.

But they do deliver. Every time. They have not failed to deliver, not once. And whatever massive number of stretch goals they had promised, they lived up to that promise too.

If they promised a certain type of plastic, and then went with cheaper, bendy stuff, or if the rules were supposed to support solo play, but eventually did not (for example), then you have good reason to complain. But they have never done that.

Again, if your sole complaint is the sliding delivery schedule, it should come as no surprise. Happens every single time. Nobody should ever back CMON if they are counting on whatever shipping date is promised.

And even the shipping date is bogus. Because you think that means they are shipping it to your house. No, the shipping date is from China. Add weeks at sea, before the boxes make it to shipping hubs. And THEN stuff is finally mailed from there to people.

I got my Kickstarter from them months early. I have heard and read a number of accounts of people not getting thier orders but it seems that most of the time it is either that they did not complete the pledge manager (both parts the first during the kickstarter and then later when they get the shipping cost) or changed address.

I love the game it is problably the best figure/boardgame I have played. The intresting thing about it is that there are so many ways to win with lots of intresting stratageys in play.
