Yesterday we played a game of Pikemen's Lament using the river crossing scenario from the rule book with 24-point companies per side.

Dragoons face off against a unit of gallopers. It did not end well for the dragoons.

Pike units face across the bridge. As it turned out, neither unit was willing to advance.

Great game and a fun scenario.

Lovely figures. Who makes them please?

We played this scenario about three weeks ago, using two companies per side. Excellent game, one company on our side only managed tto get figures across the river in the last couple of moves. The other had to hold off a strong attack, eventually being outflanked and forced to retreat.
We really like these rules, perfect for small multiplayer games and the unpredictability introduced by the activation system adds to the fun.

Thanks guys for the kind remarks. We like these rules for just the same reasons. We only had one company per side but the narrative for our game was similar with my company forced to retreat.

The figures are Old Glory ECW. The range is extensive, the figures have character and variety and I find them easy to paint.

Hey Big Red, love your terrain. Can you tell us about the buildings?

Mark,

The buildings belong to Bob, my gaming partner. I believe he bought them off of eBay but I will ask.

Lovely looking game. I'm liking that bridge too…who makes it?

Edit: found it – Roman stone bridge by Grand Manner. :)

Cheers
