So I've been trying to find a set of rules that I like to use with the 3D printed ships that I designed… I managed to get my hands on WAY too many different rules sets and now have brutal analysis paralysis, so I started creating little game mechanic summaries to help me sort through them. I figured that I'd post them in case it's helpful to anyone else, and *maybe* someone would like to submit similar summaries for games that I have yet to do…? I was going to post them here, but BGG makes more sense: link |

If I had seen it, I likely would have skipped by it since I'm more focused on ~Napoleonic… But it doesn't appear to be so simulation-like that it'd matter that much. I've read the original Song of Blades rules but never played them. They're interesting. Is it good? |

Well my first wargame was Wooden Ships and Iron Men, the original Battleline edition. So I am prejudiced. Don't know how it could be improved upon. I also have the "expansion" Ship o' the line (number 19 on your list) and like using the more detailed info in there but with the hex based movement of WS&IM. IMHO even if you want to get into more detail these are great places to start. I use the GHQ 1:1200 minis. Stephen |
