News From The Plague Planet: link

text from article:

Breaking news from AdeptiCon and the Warhammer Studio Preview – a major faction is making its inexorable return to the battlefields of the 41st Millennium.

Pouring forth from the Eye of Terror following the fall of the Cadian Gate, we present: the Death Guard.

Wow!

It's been a long time since we saw any new miniatures for Plague Marines, or Nurgle-worshipping Chaos Space Marines of any sort, for Warhammer 40,000, but it has certainly been worth it. Clearly not to be outdone by the recent return of their allies/rivals of the Thousand Sons, the unyielding warriors of Barbarus are returning, and they never looked so good.*

Remember how we said this was going to be the best year of Warhammer 40,000 ever?

We weren't lying.

*Well, we guess, depending on how you look at it, to some people's eye, they probably looked better before that whole infected-with-warp-borne-plague thing, but from a miniatures perspective, these are phenomenal.

Hope new Noise Marines are not far behind.

OK, I like the Death Guard. I bought a ton of the 2nd edition single-pose plastics (which I then modded for variety). I loved the MK IV (I think? It's been so long) armor look, and how appropriate that variant looked on them. I HATED the unappealing tumorous look of the later plague marines.

After how (IMO) ridiculous-looking the initial LoS Khornate releases were, I didn't thing they had it in them.

Exciting. I just acquired and painted up a squad of the old vintage metal Plague Marines. Hopefully they'll look ok next to these new models.
