Anyone attend conventions there? Looks like they have an attached Westin.

The one in San Fran is still under construction.

Which one are you talking about?

I think the one in Wilmington Delaware. Yes there is now a Westin attached and a quite nice selection of restaurants in walking distance.

I have a couple of work related seminars there every year and the facility is quite nice, although I am not sure of the square footage. The MFCA show was held there a number of years ago. Having said that I believe it was considered at one time with lack of hotels being one issue.

The attached Westin is the only hotel within walking distance or an easy drive. While it is nice, I am not sure the Westin's prices are in line with the average wargamers's hotel budget either.

The Westin only has 180 rooms, priced from $170 USD-255/night. Since my budget of $110 USD/night is considered by many to be extravagant, I'll say the hotel issue is still a major obstacle.

I did the MFCA show there a number of years ago; the place at the time was in the middle of nowhere. They had union staff working there, some bozo driving a floor sweeper knocked a whole stack of my boxes over, just kept right on driving, didn't bother to stop or say he was sorry.

I stayed at a hotel in downtown Willmington; they handed out a flier when you checked in advising you eat dinner at the hotel as "The streets are not very safe in th area at night"……………..no joke.

Despite the newly attached hotel and the recent development in the area, it's over the Delaware River Bridge, so no thanks………………..
