I'm painting up some Hat 28mm Prussians. But I'm going to need some Landwher and extras. Which should be the closest size wise to the Hat 28mm stuff.

I realised I required quite a few Prussians for my little Leipzig project. I came across the Hat chaps and at a super price from Hannants.

I will be using Perry for the Guard, Hat for the line and Warlord for the Landwehr. I already have Hat Bavarians and some Hat lt inf, they are slimmer, but fine not mixed in the same units as the others.

Perry is usually a better fit for HaT plastics. Warlord Naps can be a bit chunky.

Oh, how do you find the Hat chaps?

I like the HaT Napoleonics. The El Cid range is another matter :/ Have some painted HaT Prussians up on hatebay right now.

Though slimmer, I think the HaT plastics have very nice detail and are incredibly reasonable in price.

My Prussians are a mix of Perry (line troops), Warlord (Landwehr and their metal jagers) and HaT (skirmishers and fusiliers). The HaT are the smallest of the lot, which, since the Prussians tended to put the smaller men in the fusilier battalions, it works out just fine.

I cannot rationalize why the Landwehr are so big and beefy (especially their absolutely massive shovels of hands), but you know what – it all looks fine on the table.

If I had to do it all over again, I'd honestly go with HaT. Can't beat the price, and I quite like the figures. I originally sought them out because I was disappointed with the single skirmisher pose from the Perry box. Very glad I did.

As I said though, once they are deployed on the table the size differentials don't matter, since I don't mix any of the troops into a single formation. Admittedly, I did put a washer under the HaT figures only, to bump them a bit higher on their MDF base.

As a general comment, Alban miniatures fit Hat almost exactly..
