I have had a number of problems whereby 6mm models arrive and the horses only have 3 (or 3 1/2) legs. Has happens with nearly every order and now with some cossacks where almost every strip has the problem. I have complained before – I mailed in a photo – and they sent me replacements. Good but time comsuming. But is this normal, to have damaged horses in nearly every order? What do people do? Just paint them because nobody will notice the problem on the tabletop? Thats what I'm doing with the cossacks because I couldn't be bothered with complaining and then the delay? Are some 6mm manufacturers better at quality control than others? //Keith |

I used H&R since 1995. Only once I get a 3-legged horse. However I guess this was by chance because the amount of flash on some items told me that the quality control was not-so-strong. |

Happens rarely on my Baccus. I just reinforce the fig with a bit of sprue under the body and paint it. |

Can't say it is a problem I've noticed. Maybe you've been really unlucky? |

For me, it seems to happen most often with Baccus. |

But is this normal, to have damaged horses in nearly every order? That was exactly my experience several years ago with a popular 6mm manufacturer. I was so disappointed that nearly every horse had one or more broken legs. It's not fair at all for me to name them since my experience happened so many years ago (6 or 7 years at least). It is one of the reasons I moved on to larger scales. |

I have 1 15mm horse that was missing a piece of a leg, kinda putty it in.. |

FWIW, I have never had a problem with miscasts of horse legs from Baccus. |

Hello Keith! A lot depends on the age of the mold. Also the figures are produced at a pretty fast pace so there is no real time to check them. You should report every problem you have as often that is the only way that they know that there is a problem. I have gotten some and I simply paint them black and put them within a unit so that they can't really be seen and don't get handled. Every 6mm manufacture has some weakness in some of their figures. And everyone one of them will work with you to sort out any recurring problems. But if your not keeping them updated then they can't fix it. Best regards, Glenn |

with a 6mm figure how can anyone tell? It is possible to see three legged horses even in this small size, but the worse problem from my point of view is that 3 legged horses are much less stable than their 4 legged cousins and are prone to falling over or breaking off. I would much rather have slight oversized legs which made the figures more durable. |

keithbarker This does happens with all makes and I imagine it can also happen during posting, no matter how careful the manufacturers are. My solution is to always order a couple of extra miniatures, just in case. |

Although we try our best, we are casting tens of thousands of figures a week and some miscasts will inevitably get through. We're only human (or partly so in the case of the Igor), and we cannot spot every error. If anyone ever does get a miscast strip or strips, an email to us outlining the problem will see some replacements sent on their way. |
