I am on the road for work and thus away from all of my wargaming stuff. I need to scratch build a 19th Century 15mm armored train and river gunboat ASAP. I am in need of 2 or 3 black powder era gun barrels. I was thinking of 1/72 plastics as you always get extra barrels on the sprues. Perhaps you have some spares laying around. Can anyone help me? I will of course pay all postage and packing costs. Thanks!

I use that same technique, but with coffee stir sticks in the centre.

There's also the venerable melt-sprue-and-stretch to produce tapered barrels.
