"… I wanted a character with a LeMat revolver. I gave one to a Taylor ally because the Taylor-Sutton feud took place in Texas just after the Civil War, and the LeMat was popular among Confederate officers. As a gamer, I wanted to give the LeMat to a character that didn't seem to have anything else going for him, hence our friend Dopey" link Main page link Amicalement Armand |

The thing about the LeMat is that it isn't designed for a belt holster. It's designed to be carried by a cavalryman or mounted officer. It's big, heavy, and a pain in the patookus to carry around, as those who have bought a reproduction quickly discovered. |

Good for combat, sure. But not for carrying around on a belt holster. Way too heavy for what you get. Works well as a horse pistol. For a "western gunfight" scenario, better to carry a Colt or Remington revolver, and back it up with a shotgun or Henry/ Winchester. |

IIRC, a smaller "baby LeMat" was also produced. B |
