I've been collecting WW2 armor for 25 years now, and have most everything I really want. A couple tanks have just not been easily available but thanks to 3D printing I picked up one of them for my birthday:

Still have to dust it yet, but dusting is done in large batches and I don't have enough ready yet. My painting isn't great, but I'm pretty happy with this P26/40. The hull isn't perfectly smooth but I don't think I've ever seen a tank with a smooth hull. I glued some stowage I had lying around on the back. The last one I'm going to pick up sooner or later is a Soviet T18, also available on Shapeways. |

I like it, but where that camouflage would work I don't know. Maybe on the slopes of an erupting Mount Vesuvius? |

I think that the brown should be more of a red brown. It looks too pale to me, though that might be the picture. Something like red primer or dark rust seems to be a good match for the colours used late war by the Germans. The hull looks ok as far as print lines are concerned. The turret is a bit more noticeable, but less so than many I've seen on TMP. Is it possible to sand them smoother? |

The colors are darker in person, I expect my camera was compensating for the black background. Anyway, I painted it the way it appeared on google. as far as the texture, at 3 feet it looks fine. I've never seen a tank in real life with a smooth surface anyway. Either way, it'll end up covered in smoke quickly enough to hide any defects. |
