This morning I took close ups of my 6mm Normandy buildings (so far). Check them out here: flic.kr/s/aHskR2CaBn |

Lovely work on them. How's the village layout and basing going. Really interested to see how you go with it |

Really nice work Mark! I would add a little green mossy color to corners of roofs and a few wisps of green at the bottom like grass growing beside the house. |

So the base is still in progress. This is just a throw away test piece. But so far I think the idea has merit. Pic 1 shows the base itself. I have outlined a few plots, and put in a small garden. I would trim the base so there would be no "margin." The road is just a placeholder. I'd probably do one with a dirt road, another with cobbles.
Just for concept, here it is with a few houses (these are too large but you get the idea):
Next step will be doing some layouts and looking at Google earth and try to get a sense of what a good plot size is. I need to balance looks with playability. The village can't end up being four feet long! |

Another note: I would fill in the plots with flock, foliage bushes, maybe a hedge or two. Trees would have to be loose since the base is fabric. I like that it is thin and would "flow" over a shallow ridge or hill. |

Very nice! The colors look really good. |

Just fiddling. But I like the idea well enough I'm going to try it again for real. |
