I was thinking about doing some 1812 Great Lakes naval gaming. I didn't even know about these rules.

There seems to be zero info about this game out there.

I wonder if they include fighting forts and landings and so on.

OK… bit on the full set of rules…. here is my 5 minute look.

158 page PDF, about half of which is ship sheets, 1 per page
Scale of description choice appears to be 1/300 as War Artisan ships are featured in a lot of pictures.

I have not looked at the firing or sailing rules in detail yet, but it looks like:

each gun is represented by type on the ship sheet – 1 gun per representation.

Damage appears to be by a manner similar to Leviathan/Crimson Skys, in that it looks like first you find where along the hull your round hit, then you penetrate a certain number of boxes, determined by range and round size. For example, the Erie sloop Little Belt is 18 boxes long and 6 boxes wide.

Jury is still out but I have been looking for a gun by gun game for the Great Lakes and this may work.

There is a paragraph or so on each of boats and shore batteries, but not in much detail.
