Does anyone use this kind of thing for basing models with?

What should one consider before doing so? Apply before or after priming?

I myself do not. I would think that Silflor type clumps would be sufficient at that sort of thing.

I've never heard of anyone using teddy bear fur on figure bases.

Static grass, clumps and flock are far better for that.

Only heard of it being used as fields or grass. I would imagine it'd be tough to use on a base, but would integrate well if the table had any as terrain.

Yup, WAY too much work. You'd have to cut it to the shape of the base and then cut a hold for the mini. Tedious work. Not to mention how much work it is to paint the darn stuff. Fine if you're going to do a 4' mat but would look crappy done in 1" pieces.

Makes great fields though!

I base my teddy bears with the fur still on them, thank you!

I've considered doing this myself but I'm not sure that it's worth the hassle.

I did find this, but it's not what I'm after at all:

Works for me.

Optionally, you can just cut some of the hair/fur off of it, and use that to glue onto your bases instead, if you prefer.
