There has been some recent discussion of the compatibility of Blue Moon (Old Glory25) and Eureka Seven Years War figures. With regard to infantry figures, I have found them to be a very close match. The Eureka figures are slightly less bulky, and have longer, thinner bayonets (these can be trimmed back and filed to match Blue Moons). The cocked hats are a little bigger on the Blue Moons, but not by much. Blue Moons also have a knapsack, waistbels and cartridge box, while Eureka have only a cartridge box. The Eureka figures have bigger and wider cuffs, while the Blue Moons are smaller.Neither have canteens. Here are two photos of figures I've painted and based for the Honours of War rules. The Blue Moon figures are the French on the left, while the Eureka figures are the British on the right:

Nice work! The infantry are a good match size-wise; the cavalry not so much. |

Hi Jon. I heartily agree. The Eureka SYW cavalry are closer to the larger sized 18mm figures, and superbly sculpted. I bought several bags of Blue Moon AWI cavalry awhile ago and was very disappointed at how small the riders and horses were. I won't make the same mistake again with SYW. |
