We're planning to base our Sharp Practice ACW games around the Trans Mississippi theatre, or we are if I get my way, and I was thinking about building some units of Indian cavalry after Stand Watie.

What figures in 28mm would work? I guess the core question is would they have had any sort of Confederate uniform items, or would they be well represented by Old West style Indian figs?

Foundry has some Cherokee and Delaware Indians in their Old West range that fit the bill for me. I mixed them in with regular Confederate cavalry.

As far as I know, what MSU did is your only option.

What about US Cavalry, later period, sort of uniformed Indian Scouts?

Well, I can't believe there aren't any dedicated figure ranges, golden age of gaming, indeed!

I found a couple of pics online, it looks like they wore CSA uniform items but with some Indian exotica, feathers, long hair, etc. I guess I he way to do it would be regular cavalry and greenstuff.

Frothers, please share those pics with me as you find them. Cherokee Braves are somewhere in the future of my line of figures.

Thanks for the tip about Company D, I've already had my eye on his bushwhackers.
