Meet the Heroes: US Airborne Major Richard "Dick" Winters

Also check out this post on my blog where I compiled a few interesting interviews with Winters as well as with men who served under him: stoessisheroes.com/meet-the-heroes-us-airborne-major-richard-dick-winters

Head's too big. Body's too stocky. Looks like a dwarf!

28mm figures do err on the chunky side. It is arguably what the market wants.

I never liked the 'citadel' style which came in with the plastic base. But to each their own.

This is an impressive attempt to get a likeness and capture the character of the photo – though it seems to resemble th actor more than the real Dick Winters.

Bravo at the detail on him! Can't wait to see him all painted up!

Very nice, though he looks more like Elvis to me.

Really stocky figure. Huge feet and boots. Flat top hair style. Looks more like Frankenstein than a Dwarf. I'm sure the Germans would agree lol. Lee

It does appear that the original photos shows Winters wearing lace-up Corcoran jump boots, and not M43s. (?)
