The State of Texas has acquired our Alamo diorama, featuring the Blue Moon 15mm model and figures.

We have been working on this diorama for over a year.

A special Thank You goes out to Connie and Russ Dunaway and the Old Glory crew for their prompt service which kept the project on schedule.
Also Thanks to Doug at Battlefield Terrain Concepts, who provided the scenics and terrain materials.

Great looking diorama!

Will it be on-site at the Alamo?

Larry, does that mean you won't be running the game any more at the conventions? Or is this another Alamo?

That won't fit into a flat rate shipping box.

Jim, I am uncertain where the final destination home will be for it. We are instructed to deliver it to the State House in Austin. I hear they have a huge Alamo Plaza Restoration Project underway, and have been reclaiming adjacent properties in an effort to restore more of the original compound, so who knows?

Tom, Some of the game figures went into the diorama, so our Alamo game is shelved until we can get more painted. But we were planning to return to our ACW roots for wargaming in 2017 anyway.
The good news is our "ALAMO SOLDADOS" Rules (an Alamo version of our original "Gettysburg Soldiers" Rules) are playtest completed and ready to send to the printers. We expect to have ready in Fall 2017.

79thPA, yeah, the diorama with plexiglass cover measures 48" x 68" so we will loading it in the van and making a road trip to Texas.

Great news to hear that this beautiful model will be in Texas. I look forward to seeing it in the future.

Now if only Old Glory would come out with the other buildings that they said that they were going to do for both Golliad and San Antonio to go with the Alamo.

Amazing. 2 Questions… How many figures and did you use a scale of real/figures or just how ever many it took to give the visual you were after?

There are 240 Defenders in the diorama (most Alamo scholars estimate 187 to 250 in the Alamo at the time of the final battle).
The number and position of cannons is accurate. Mark Lemon's book "The Illustrated Alamo, 1836" was my bible in deciding the placement of guns.

I am not sure exactly how many Mexican soldiers are featured. I stopped counting at 700, then added more until we started to aesthetically run out of room around the perimeter.

The entire diorama measures 48" x 68".
