… Iconic Superhero's New Movie "I need Wonder Woman to be good. I want every movie I see to be good, but if they're not, I shrug off the disappointment and go about my business. But the stakes for Wonder Woman are so much higher. While there have been a couple of female-led superhero movies (Catwoman and Elektra), neither was good, and neither character was all that popular to begin with. Wonder Woman is an icon, and there's no bigger female superhero in the genre. She's been around for over 75 years, and she was always intended as a feminist hero, able to show strength and love in equal measure. I need the movie to do justice to that legacy and the ideals she's carried in her best stories. I need the movie to do well so that Hollywood knows that there's an audience for superhero stories led by women. In February 2016, some fellow journalists and I visited the set of Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman in London. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hadn't come out yet, so all we knew of the character was what we had seen in the trailers. When we arrived on set, we were walked through basically the entire plot of the film, which I won't divulge here or any other spoilers about the film…" Main page link Amicalement Armand

From what I have seen you will not be disappointed. I to am looking forward to this more than any other DC or Marvel movie. Hope Hollywood does not use 21st century ideas for any woman other than Wonder Women in this movie. It's WW1 time frame. |

Huh. What I heard about this production was that the film was a mess, and threatened to be an epic disaster. Who knows what's been going on behind the scenes? |

Who writes this stuff? Selina Kyle is not popular? Really? |

While confusing, the reference is probably to link which had a Catwoman but it wasn't Selina Kyle. |

I'm avoiding any possible spoiler so will read this AFTER seeing the film ! Hope Hollywood does not use 21st century ideas for any woman other than Wonder Women in this movie. It's WW1 time frame. Some women were more liberated than others – don't forget the Suffragette bodyguards ! Edith Garrud was a tiny woman. Measuring 4ft 11in (150cm) in height she appeared no match for the officers of the Metropolitan Police – required to be at least 5ft 10in (178cm) tall at the time. But she had a secret weapon. In the run-up to World War One, Garrud became a jiu-jitsu instructor to the Women's Social and Political Union (WSPU), better known as the suffragettes, taking part in an increasingly violent campaign for votes for women. Sick of the lack of progress, they resorted to civil disobedience, marches and illegal activities including assault and arson. link
