When planning for a dungeon wargame with miniatures, how many Orc warriors do you think you will need? |

Eleven, providing they're tall enough… John T |

That depends. What level? If the Wizard has fireball then you need a lot more. Some old school adventures had some crazy high numbers in some encounters. I guess my answer we would be, "never enough". Chris |

If you don't have enough figures, then you can always use a wave attack! |

Dungeons are good for recycling blade fodder! I think about 40 used to be fine for mine, just for the visual effect! |

Depends on the toilet facilities, too many and your dungeon party will be stepping in it all the way to the treasure. how many DMs actually play it real? |

Hundreds, think swarms of them in Moria! |

I'm a big fan of a 6 to 1 ratio for bad guys….assuming you are posting heroes against lesser foes. That being said if you have a dungeon layout…filling it full of potential threats….which may or may not actually be there contributes to very satisfactory levels of player "stress."

As many as you have At least when opposing dwarfs, I find at least three goblins/Orcs/etc is what you need |

Orcs are the Zulus of the Fantasy world; you can never have enough. "Orcs sir, thousands of them." |

Depends on the rules no? From gut feeling, 2 to 1, but I'm a Runequest and Rolemaster player :) |

How many angels are on a head of a pin? That's how many orcs you need. |

Depend on the power of the party. At low level a single orc could be a close match for a single player. In that case 2 to 1 in favor of the orcs in a single encounter is about right. Thru the whole dungeon, I would agree Zulu level of numbers. |

All of them! is the only real answer… :D |

You can always recycle the dead ones ….so enough to keep the players busy and a few more for spare. It does depend how many players you have as well. |

I remember a dungeon in which we came across an orc mob numbering around 75 – 80. My friend only had 25 actual orc figurines, the rest ended up being dice and pennies. So everytime an Orc figurine was killed he would turn into a penny and the figurine was recycled into the fight. Worked quite well |
