Hot glue, every time.

Thanks. I have Aleenes quick dry, but it will probably pop off eventually. I will have to look for the glue gun I guess.

Duco! The most versatile glue there is…especially for mixed mediiums…yet for some reason it's the most underutilized glue there is…I've been using it with success for 25 years!

Leadjunky04 Mar 2017 5:52 p.m. PST

Yep. I have some of that too somewhere. I have never tried it on plastic though. Thanks.

My go to for mixed media like that would be Walther's Goo, from a model train shop. It is a rubber type glue that makes an excellent bond on metal and soft plastic. Also, if in the future you decide to change your basing, a sharp X-acto blade slices through the Goo.
I have Goo bonded troops based for Empire III that I did up about 35 years ago, and no trouble slicing them off so I can remount the figures for NB and AoE.

I use the epoxy sold by Hobby Town to glue my soft plastics to pennies. It works fine, but I reinforce the glue by adding Liquitex modelling paste to terrain the base once the epoxy is dry. The paste then dries rock hard.

I now use 2 part epoxy almost always when soft polyethylene plastics are involved. I do a fair bit of converting with toys so I buy the stuff by the bottles. For vinyls CA is great.

Hot glue is a good option too, but epoxy is a bit tougher if that's a priority.

myxemail is correct, Goo from Walthers, sold at model train shops or direct from Walthers on line works very well.

Maybe not the best option, but I have found that the ordinary white glue (PVA) works sufficiently well for the purpose, and is relatively convenient to use. Drying takes a while however, and it may be a good idea during this time to place the washer so that air can circulate through the hole in the bottom.

PVA/Wood glue.

Since it is somewhat elastic it won't snap off as easily as hot glue/superglue etc.
