Mary Reed was a real pirate, who successfully disguised herself as a man for many years, both as a soldier and a pirate. Whatever she may have actually looked like, she certainly didn't look like this. I doubt anyone from the 18th century pirate period ever did, for that matter. This sculpt is a purely fantasy pirate, which is fine for that purpose. But it's hardly the real Mary Reed. |

If you put a historical person's name on it, my preference would be to see something more along the lines of that person. That said, nice work. |
