I've got CoC for my skirmish gaming and love the rules, however, I find myself wanting more than 2 or 3 vehicles on the table. What's the logical (and preferable) setup from CoC skirmish rules? I'd like a game with maybe 10 tanks on the table at once with the appropriate amount of infantry. What is your go-to set of rules for a game this size? |

Blitzkrieg Commander II Look Sarge No Charts I Ain't Been Shot Mum Panzer Blitz for miniatures To name but a very few. FOW is very popular and a good game but to me (YMMV) it seems like a pumped up skirmish game and may or may not fit your needs. There are many, many more and hopefully others will chime in with additional excellent recommendations. |

My favorite (since I wrote them (Look, Sarge, No Charts)) is on Big Red's list, but you might also consider Command Decision. Some of the guys in our club play it a lot and enjoy it. |

Think the Big Chain of Command is for more than 2 people so I'm sure not if that would fit the bill since it's just be and my buddy playing. Appreciate all the suggestions |

Blitzkrieg Commander is my favorite – sounds like the third version is due out later in March from Pendraken. |

The most logical step up would be IABSM as they're from the same authors and share similar pholisophies. Obviously there are countless rules sets out there for company level games. Personally I love Fivecore company command, and my own Hail of Fire. |

Battlegroup is my preferred "step-up" set of rules above the skirmish feel of CoC. You can run a company and up per side easily, and it moves along very quickly, too. I've run many games with 10+ tanks per side and we've had a LOT of fun. |

I would recommend IABSM it will handle as many tanks & infantry platoons as you want. |

Another vote for Company Commander by Nordic Weasel. You can get it at Wargames Vault. I like Crossfire as well. Here are some of Just Jack's battle reports to give you an idea of the game: link |

Lee. Skirmish Action author sharing some thoughts. I wrote SA rules because I wanted to use my FoW minis for large (two platoon plus) tank battles with supporting infantry mounted on bases in "fire teams" and be able to finish a game in two hours instead of a full afternoon. I had a room full of FoW minis and wanted a way to play large fast moving games with them. In addition to fire team based minis Skirmish Action also work well with 28mm individually mounted men and 10 or more tanks. Recently played a Bulge game with a table full of tanks. Still played in 2 hours. So I started buying 28mm minis (love them, I can actually see them) and now have a room full of them to keep my room full of FoW minis company at night lol. Gotta feed the addiction! My point being that you can play large tanks battles in either 15 or 28mm using Skirmish Actions rules with supporting infantry mounted either as fire teams or individual men. Use whatever you have however it's based. Lee |

If your looking for a platoon level game as the atomic unit with players commanding about a battalion then I strongly recommend Combat Command (of course I prejudiced…) Its available from WarGames Vault. Handles larger actions and named battles such as Arracourt, Christmas Day attack on Bastonge, Stonne, Sword Beach etc. Thomas J. Thomas Fame and Glory Games |
