At this point I'm just utterly confused and bewildered about what will happen.

Sigh.

So the sooner I can get a copy in my hands and decide for myself, the better :)

So now there are 2 books: the v4 rule book and the book you need to convert all of those expensive books from the earlier edition to the current rule system. Oh, and then there's the whole mental process of learning how rules you've memorized after years of play have changed to something different. And for what? Because some group in an echo chamber think that the v3 rules need improvement?

No thanks. It's sickening how much like GW this has become.

I'll stay with v3, thank you very much!

@Wizbangs

How exactly is it like GW?

- That v3 players can get the rulebooks free?
- that V4 is simpler then v3 (rules bloat is the trademark of current 40K)
-providing a conversion for your existing source books

I love the V3 rule set and will miss some of the features and extra rules that we've used for years however after playing several V4 games the feel is the same.

For our group FOW has been on the sidelines, with Team Yankee and other games taking our time. For the first time in a long time we are talking and, more importantly, playing Flames of War again.

for better or for worse game systems move forward or they die.

V3 was awesome but I'd recommend giving V4 a chance, at worse you might like it :)
