Robert P Broadwater lost his battle with cancer this week. Bob graduated with my wife in 1976 from a small town in PA, graduating class was less than 20. I first met Bob at my wife's 20 year reunion in 1996. It was, not surprisingly a small reunion and when we started talking we immediately hit it off thanks to our love of history. Bob has written several books (search Amazon for Robert P Broadwater) and shortly after the reunion a signed copy of one of them arrived in my mailbox. So every 4 years I actually looked forward to my wife's reunion as a chance to chat with him. This past one, 2016 I could see he wasn't well, he told me about his cancer and we talked about the Civil War. Unfortunately it was for the last time. RIP Bob and thanks for all your contributions to history. Your books will always have a special spot on my bookshelves and in my heart.

Busy man. I thought I was unfamiliar with his works, but
I do have one of his books, The Battle of Olustee. An
interesting and informative work.

Surprised to find some bio's of sports figures among
his works.

RIP, Sir..

Sad to hear.

But, to which civil war do you refer to? There has been more than one.

Sad to hear of your friend, luckly authors I think last longer in civilization, their books being found generation after generation.

Rhysius – right off I knew you were not a yank. Cheers mate.

I had met him and spent some time discussincClellan with him. He was a good person and a good historian. Sorry to hear of his passing.
